It's that time of year...

When Josh returned home last week he brought a little something extra with him, a cold! So the Schwarz household has been very snuffly this week. GG's experiencing her first cold and is not happy about it as these photo's show you. But Mummy and Daddy are getting lots of nice cuddles!

Happy First Wedding Anniversary to us!

Saturday night saw us celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary with some family and friends over a BBQ at our place. A borrowed BBQ (thanks Pop!!!), some garden torches and several liters of kerosene ensured an enjoyable evening was had by all. Thanks to everyone who helped make our night so much fun and a HUGE thanks to Becky, Aunty Bubbles and Nanna for their help with food/logistics and to the boys for their help fire fighting. Big thanks to my gorgeous wife for the night and for the tolerance she has displayed daily for the past 12 months.

Winter Joys!

Winter's a great time up here! You can live without air conditioning, have a shower without perspiring, walk down the shop without perspiring, basically do everything without perspiring! The time of year when you don't want to leave your bed in the morning and just stay in your pajamas all day! Which is exactly what GG did today!

Polar Play

Over the last few days we've experienced a cold snap which has been a welcome change in weather! With the temperature falling to 9.4*C one night we've been keeping GG snug!

Hard Day at the Office

For all those bloggers out there who think we public servants have it easy....watch this vid and see just how hard some of us do indeed work. This was day one of a week long trip (which ended on day one!)



The 12km walk to an area to get sat-phone reception followed shortly after and an afternoon of winching and recovery was as far as we made it this trip. Although we got the vehicle running it was straight to the mechanics with it!!
For the record I've crossed the same spot four times this year (when it was up to 50cm deeper) in a Landcruiser...........Patrols just don't have it!!
